Day in the Garden

Time is determined by activity

Day in the Garden

During the spring, summer and fall I spend about 1-2 hours a day in the yard.  For the most part I actually am growing gardens that self manage with no weeding.   My ground covers are mints and other edibles.   I propagate plants regularly.   I have things to harvest throughout the year.  I collect seeds and have a great seed library.

Possible Workshops

  • Harvest splits (Plants to take home)
  • Seed collecting
  • Plant propagating

Day in the Garden is great for kids

“Day in the garden” is a good experience for young kids.   I created a field trip for the boys and girls club.  They visited the studio and garden. We collected sticks and they made weaving using natural materials.  We had a honey tasting event.  They got to learn about composting and everyone held a worm.  The kids had a great time.

Mushroom Experience

I have had mushroom events.   Everyone gets to build a mushroom log and take it home.   This is a great class for mushroom enthusiasts and people Interested in sustainability.

Learn ways to Composting

Learn about composting and worm farms.  Build your own worm farm.   We actively compost using all different methods.  Vermicompost, bokashi, static pile, and one using solder flies.  I like to use different composting methods to ensure I am getting the benefits of each one.
