Ceramic Journey Challange

2 Class days, 10:00-2:00 each

$185.00 includes both days, all the materials and 2 firing ceramic kiln  

 As you become more comfortable with clay we will create more challenging clay projects.  We will make Jewelry boxes, Compost buckets, Fermentation Weights and more.  These classes will be sold separately and will require that you have taken at least one Ceramic Journey class.  

Upon arrival, Students will look through the gallery and see samples of projects. Students will be able to come to a consensus of what the workshop focus/instruction will be. With some experience you will be able to do all the projects and more.

The class will be held in my studio.  Depending on your interest we might go to the garden and find things to create texture in the clay.  Please wear shoes that can get dirty and bring a jacket if it is cold.  

HOW THE WORKS

These classes require multiple class dates.  The first class you will work in the wet clay and make your project.  The clay will need to dry and be fired (1st firing).  That can take 2-3 weeks.  Then you will return to glaze your project and it will be fired again (2nd firing).  Once it is fired for the second time it is ready to be picked up and fired.  

WHAT YOU LEARN

You will expand on the slab roller, attaching clay pieces, marks and texture using plants and fabric.   From the first Ceramic Journey Workshop.  In the Challenge Workshop there will be more building instruction.  How to build 3 dimensional forms.  attaching clay to clay.  working with leather hard clay to build boxes
